Tonka Beano - Kev Hopper

Linear Obsessional is very excited to present a new album of electronic music from Kev Hopper (Stump, Ticklish, Prescott) created entirely with self-designed virtual machines.

"Tonka Beano" is a delightful exploration of unique sounds, textures and rhythms - a bubbling, effervescent concoction where each track seems to tell a story- sometimes light, sometimes dark, but all within the recognisable sonic spaces that Hopper has made his own.

The download comes with a PDF booklet with detailed notes from Kev plus screenshots of his "machines".

The physical edition (of 40) comes in a flexible frosted case, with sugar paper inlay, and laminated photographic insert. You can get it here

Kev Hopper
Kev Hopper is a bassist, guitarist, songwriter and electronic musician. He came to prominence in the 80's quirky indie band Stump, before embarking on a solo career with an early example of sampling music "Stolen Jewels" - he was a member of the audio/visual electronic quartet Ticklish (with Phil Durrant, Richard Sanderson and Rob Flint) and currently plays bass in the odd-prog-crypto-funk trio Prescott (with Rhodri Marsden and Frank Byng)

Subject: Unpredicatably Wonderful
Yes, this is the work of the bloke out of Stump - doyens of Student Disco with "Buffalo" and its swinging bottom refrain. This is nothing like that - all squelchy electronic sounds and mysterious bumps...although maybe it shares a sense of fun and a desire to be different. It's great!
